430 acres. One vision.
Forty years from anywhere.
What started as a dream became the valley where people come to remember what matters.
How Sēlah Valley came to be
In 2020, a Melbourne businessman who'd relocated to the Gold Coast discovered something unexpected in the Tweed Valley hinterland.
Milton wasn't looking for a farm. He lived the life most would recognize: busy, productive, urban. The most unlikely of farmers, by his own admission.
But when he found this property—430 acres of pristine farmland at the base of the Border Ranges, near the small Tweed town of Tyalgum—he saw something different. Not just land, but possibility.
"There are not many people who come here and say there's not a stillness about this property."
Formerly a camp owned by The Southport School, the property had sat largely untapped for decades — a piece of "middle earth" few had the opportunity to access. Forty minutes from Gold Coast Airport, yet forty years from anywhere else. Ten minutes from a village of 400 people. Surrounded by rolling hills, native bush and a year-round creek, with Wollumbin (Mt Warning) on the western horizon.
Milton realised a vision: create a place where people could come to stop, pause, listen, and regroup in life. Not a resort trying to manufacture peace, but a property that simply offers what it is — quiet, spacious, slow.
That vision became Sēlah Valley Estate.
What Sēlah means
The word "Sēlah" comes from ancient Hebrew. It means peace—a pause, a rest, a moment to stop and breathe.
"If peace is what you're after, peace you will get."
That's what the valley offers. Not through programming or forced meditation or manufactured "wellness experiences." Just through being itself: quiet, spacious, beautiful, unhurried.
Stop. Pause. Listen.
That's Sēlah.

More than a farmstay
"What we are offering here isn't just a farmstay. It's an opportunity to switch off and reset in one of the most pristine farmlands you will ever see."
Through developing the property, Milton—the self-described city boy—learned about the land. About holistic operations. About creating something that gives guests an entry into farm and country life at their own pace and comfort level.
"We've created contemporary facilities that bring that vision to our guests. A place to come on your own, as a couple, or with friends — to really connect with each other, and step off the hectic path of modern life."
Since 2020, Milton has transformed Sēlah Valley from an exclusive school camp into something more: a gateway. Not just to the 430 acres of the estate itself, but to thousands of hectares of ancient volcanic caldera, pristine wilderness, and national parks beyond.
The result: contemporary cabins with Wollumbin (Mt Warning) views. The Pavilion by the creek, hosting everything from intimate elopements to corporate retreats. Premium camping with fire pits, flat ground and the creek nearby. A working farm where guests collect eggs and meet Highland cattle. And access to wilderness few have seen.

What makes this valley special
Wollumbin (Mt Warning)
Wollumbin rises directly west. First light in Australia lands on that summit before anywhere else on the continent. Every cabin, every campsite — Wollumbin is present.
Year-round creek
Fed by springs high on Wollumbin (Mt Warning)'s slopes. It runs cold and clear even in drought years. Swimming holes worn smooth by millennia.
Working Farm
Highland cattle from Scotland. Heritage chickens laying eggs you'll collect each morning. Goats with personalities bigger than most people's. Real farm life, unfiltered.
Hoop pines & meadows
Tall hoop pines. Native bush. Open meadows that catch the last of the light at dusk. We maintain it but don't manicure it. Wild, not domesticated.
Wilderness access
Beyond our 430 acres lie thousands of hectares of ancient volcanic caldera and national parks. The all-wheel drive Polaris takes guests into terrain most will never experience.
Sustainability
300+ acres preserved as natural habitat. Solar power. Rainwater harvesting. Heritage breeds. Holistic farm operations. We care for the land that hosts you.
