Selah Valley Guest Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Selah Valley, a peaceful retreat located in New South Wales, Australia. By making an accommodation booking and staying at Selah Valley (whether in a Hillside Cabin, Creekside Suite, or Camping Site), you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Accommodation and Check-In/Check-Out

1.1 Accommodation Types: Guests may book a Hillside Cabin, Creekside Suite, or Camping Site. Camping Sites are accessible by 4WD vehicles only, and guests staying at these sites are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is suitable for access.
1.2 Check-In: Arrival is permitted from 2:00 PM on the day of check-in. Self check-in instructions will be provided upon booking.
1.3 Check-Out: Check-out is required by 10:30 AM on the day of departure unless a delayed check-out has been requested and approved in writing by Selah Valley Guest Services. Additional fees may apply for late check-outs.
1.4 Guest Notification: Guests must notify Guest Services at info@selahvalley.com.au of any changes to the number of guests staying on-site. Only those listed in the booking are permitted to stay overnight; additional guests or visitors are not allowed without prior approval.
1.5 Minimum Stays: A minimum stay of 2 nights applies during peak periods (e.g., public holidays, school holidays), subject to availability.
1.6 Car Parking: Car parking is available on-site. No more than two cars are permitted per booking unless otherwise approved by Guest Services.**

2. Camping Site Amenities and Rules

2.1 Camping Sites do not include access to toilet or shower facilities unless specifically requested at the time of booking.
2.2 If requested, access to these facilities will incur an additional fee, which will be communicated at the time of booking.
2.3 Capacity and Vehicle Limits: A maximum of 8 people and 2 cars are allowed per Camping Site. Additional vehicles or guests beyond this limit are not permitted.**
2.4 Condition on Departure: Guests must leave Camping Sites with no damage, litter, or waste remaining. Any damage, litter, or waste left behind may incur additional cleaning or repair fees.**

3. Fire Pits and Firewood

3.1 Use of Fire Pits: Guests have access to fire pits and are expected to use them responsibly. Selah Valley accepts no responsibility or liability for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from improper use.
3.2 Fire Safety: Guests must fully extinguish all fires when left unattended or upon departure. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or liability for any resulting damage.
3.3 Firewood: Guests may purchase firewood off-site and bring it onto the property. Firewood provided on-site or naturally occurring on the farm may not be removed from Selah Valley.

4. Property Departure Conditions

4.1 Guests must ensure that all lights, air conditioning units, ovens, and fans are turned off prior to departure.
4.2 Any damage to appliances or property due to negligence may result in additional charges.

5. Farm Access and Safety

5.1 Walking Tracks: Guests are welcome to explore the farm and enjoy the natural scenery by sticking to designated walking tracks.
5.2 Restricted Areas: Entry into gated paddocks or departure from designated tracks is strictly prohibited. Selah Valley is a working farm with cattle and livestock, and guests must respect operational areas for their own safety and the welfare of the animals.
5.3 Livestock: Guests must not interfere with livestock or farm operations.
5.4 Children: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly near the creek, fire pits, and farm areas. Selah Valley is not responsible for accidents involving unsupervised children.
5.5 Function Venue: Selah Valley operates as a function venue. Booking accommodation does not provide rights or access to the function centre (pavilion) unless explicitly included in the booking and confirmed by Guest Services.**

6. Creek Activities

6.1 Swimming, paddling, or enjoying the creek is permitted at guests’ own risk.
6.2 Selah Valley takes no responsibility for any injuries, accidents, or losses arising from creek activities. The creek is a free-flowing natural body of water, and guests must exercise common sense and avoid activities that may cause harm to themselves or others.

7. Road Access and Weather Conditions

7.1 Access to Selah Valley is via Tweed Shire Council roads, which may become impassable due to excessive rainfall or flooding.
7.2 Guests are advised to adhere to all road rules and signage and must not attempt to cross flooded roads. Selah Valley is not responsible for delays, detours, or inability to access the property due to weather or road conditions.

8. Booking, Payment, and Cancellation

8.1 Payment: A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking, with the balance payable 7 days prior to arrival (for peak periods) or on arrival (for off-peak). Full payment is required at booking for stays under $200.
8.2 Cancellation: Cancellations made more than 28 days prior to arrival receive a full refund minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations within 7–28 days receive a 50% refund. No refunds apply for cancellations within 7 days or failure to arrive. Changes to bookings are subject to availability and may incur a fee.
8.3 Failure to Arrive: Failure to arrive for a confirmed booking will be treated as a no-show, and full booking fees will be charged.
8.4 Force Majeure: Selah Valley is not liable for failure to provide accommodation or services due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or severe weather. In such cases, we will offer a credit or refund at our discretion.

9. Liability and Responsibility

9.1 Guests are responsible for their own actions, behaviors, and belongings during their stay.
9.2 Selah Valley, its owners, and staff are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property arising from guests’ use of the facilities, creek, fire pits, or farm areas, except where such liability cannot be excluded under Australian law.
9.3 Damage and Cleaning: Guests are liable for any damage beyond normal wear and tear and for excessive cleaning required due to their stay (e.g., smoking indoors, pet mess, or excessive litter). A damage bond of $200 may be required for certain bookings (e.g., groups), refundable within 7 days of departure if no issues arise.

10. Additional Policies

10.1 Pets are only permitted in the Camping Sites or in Hillside Cabins designated as pet-friendly, subject to prior approval from the Guest Services Manager. Pets must be kept under control at all times, and owners bear full responsibility for their pets’ behavior, damages, or mess. Pets are not allowed in Creekside Suites or non-designated Hillside Cabins. The following rules apply:
a) Pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outside the accommodation or in shared spaces to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests and livestock.
b) Excessive barking or noise that disturbs other guests or livestock is prohibited.
c) Owners must clean up all pet waste immediately and dispose of it properly. An additional cleaning fee may apply for pet-related mess or damage.
d) Owners must provide a dog bed or blanket for their pet to ensure a designated resting space. Pets are not permitted on couches, beds, or other guest bedding or furniture within the accommodation.
e) Owners must ensure their pet has access to fresh water at all times, either by bringing a water bowl or requesting one from Guest Services.
f) Pets must be groomed and clean prior to arrival to maintain the condition of the accommodation.
g) Owners are encouraged to bring their pet’s favorite toys, treats, or familiar items to enhance their comfort during the stay.
h) Pets are not permitted in shared indoor areas such as the function centre pavilion to maintain cleanliness and organization for all guests.
10.2 Guest Conduct: Guests must not engage in excessive noise or disruptive behavior. Quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Selah Valley reserves the right to evict guests who breach this policy without refund.
10.3 Smoking: Smoking is prohibited inside Hillside Cabins and Creekside Suites. Guests may smoke outdoors, provided cigarette butts are disposed of responsibly and not left near fire pits or dry vegetation.

11. General

11.1 Compliance: Guests must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of New South Wales during their stay.
